Gonarezhou National Park (GNP) is the second-largest National Park in Zimbabwe, spanning an area of 5,053km². Renowned for its diverse wildlife, particularly its large elephant population, GNP is a critical component of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area (GLTFCA). It serves as a vital ecological link between Mozambique and South Africa through essential wildlife corridors.

The investment in infrastructure anticipated to yield significant positive long-term improvements in resource protection and tourism revenue. In the short term, local communities will benefit from temporary employment opportunities. 
 

Aim  of  the  project
1. Improve access for park management and tourists within the northern part of Gonarezhou National Park
2. Elevate the visitor experience within GNP, generating spill-over benefits for local communities and the GLTFCA
3. Strengthen GCT's capacity to provide valuable educational experiences to school children, local community members, and tourists     about Gonarezhou and the GLTFCA.
