The Selous Niassa Wildlife Corridor is a large corridor covering 154 square km and approximately 180 km long. Hosting wildlife and human habitation, the corridor has 37 villages and 5 Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) which are directly managed by local communities. It is this loose protection of the SNWC that threatens the sustainability of the Selous-Niassa TFCA. The project will focus on strengthening protection of the strategically located Lukwika-Lumesule Game Reserve and on developing a model for sustainable revenue and benefits generation from tourist hunting; based on work that will be done in Tunduru WMA. The objective of strengthening revenue generation and benefits from tourist hunting is to enhance accrual of conservation benefits to local communities and thus not only enhance communities’ attitude and support for conservation but also stimulate active participation in conservation.

• Construction of ranger posts to support law enforcement activities
• Construction of water reservoir and culverts
